BCTS Technology Training Classes
The experts at Bucks County Technical Services now teaches technology classes in the Greater Philadelphia, Boyertown, Pottstown, Allentown areas!  Our classes range from basic computer use to computer repair to certification track professional offerings. 

All our classes are taught by a Microsoft and CompTIA certified professional with over fourteen years field experience working in technology environments of all shapes and sizes.

We currently offer classes through the East Penn School District at the Emmaus High School in Emmaus and will be opening our training center in Bally Summer 2010.

Course Offerings
Here are the currently planned course offerings, see the calendar below for actual times, dates and locations:

Introduction to Computer Networking:
In this course we will discover how networks really work!  We will cover the basic concepts of networking, protocols, learn how data gets from your computer to the Internet -- and back.  You will learn differences between network cabling,  the differences between hubs, routers, firewalls etc.  Wireless -- what is it, what is the difference between 802.11a/b/g/n?  We will design a wired network, design a wireless network and a hybrid wired/wireless design -- you will be able to take the concepts from this class home and implement your own network in your home.

In the CompTIA® Network+® Certification Boot Camp we give those who wish to excel in the role of a network technician or engineer, and IT professionals who wish to reinforce their knowledge of basic networking skills necessary to be successful in a variety of IT positions.  We will cover all the vendor neutral concepts required to install, configure and maintain networks of all sizes.

Class offerings for Summer of 2010 are:
  • Saturday June 5, 12, 19 and 26th from 9:00AM until 1:00PM.

  • Sunday July 11, 18, 25 and August 1 from 2:00PM until 6:00PM

In the CompTIA® A+® Certification Preperation Class you will install, upgrade, repair, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on a basic personal computer hardware and operating system.  The class will follow the requirements list as put forth by CompTIA®.  Students who take this class are expected to have a basic working knowledge of computers and the Windows operating system.  This class will cover all the major subject matters that are required to take the CompTIA® A+® Certification tests.  The class does not, in any way, guarantee that you will pass these tests nor does it give you the certification.
