   BCTS Technology Training Classes Minimize
The experts at Bucks County Technical Services now teaches technology classes in the Greater Philadelphia, Boyertown, Pottstown, Allentown areas!  Our classes range from basic computer use to computer repair to certification track professional offerings.  Some classes will even utilize our new online class server to give students the ability to take courses from the comfort of their own homes.

This fall we will be offering classes through the East Penn School District at the Emmaus High School in Emmaus.  In the near future, we will have our own training center opening in Bally, PA.  Keep checking back!
      

   Course Offerings Minimize
Here are the currently planned course offerings, see the calendar below for actual times, dates and locations:

Introduction to Using Computers:
In this course we will cover the following concepts: How Microsoft Windows is organized (where things are), How To install/uninstall software, How To install/uninstall printers, How To install/uninstall peripherals (cameras and other USB devices), How To do basic network navigation, How To surf the Internet effectively, Printer and Peripheral Management, What's the difference between PCs and Macs, What's the difference between a desktop and a laptop, How to choose the best computer for you, Power management for laptops, Tips and Tricks and much more!

Introduction to Computer Networking:
In this course we will discover how networks really work!  We will cover the basic concepts of networking, protocols, dissect a packet, learn how data gets from your computer to the Internet -- and back, learn and dissect the OSI layering model, cabling category distinctions -- CAT5 CAT6 who ran over my cat?,  the differences between hubs, routers, firewalls etc..., Wireless -- what is it, what is the difference between 802.11a/b/g/n?, we will design a wired network, design a wireless network and a hybrid wired/wireless design -- you will be able to take the concepts from this class home and implement your own network in your home.

A+ Certification Boot Camp
In the CompTIA® A+® Certification Preperation Class you will install, upgrade, repair, configure, optimize, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on a basic personal computer hardware and operating system.  The class will follow the requirements list as put forth by CompTIA®.  Students who take this class are expected to have a basic working knowledge of computers and the Windows operating system.  This class will cover all the major subject matters that are required to take the CompTIA® A+® Certification tests.  The class does not, in any way, guarantee that you will pass these tests nor does it give you the certification.
